“There is no god” billboards

Ironic twist in a billboard controversy:

The Freedom From Religion Foundation brought their “Out of the Closet” billboard campaign to Columbus, Ohio, running billboards like this:

So a Mansfield church, McElroy Road Church of Christ, took out a billboard with this response:

Mid Ohio Atheists agreed with them. So much so, they made a billboard with the exact same message:

So far, so funny. But the billboard company they contracted, cancelled their contract because it “would no doubt be considered offensive to much of the community”.

Though these were not with the same billboard company (McElroy Road Church posted theirs with Lamar, Mid Ohio Atheists contracted theirs with Lind), the double standard is stark, don’t you think?
